Hello @elainewildash
Thank you for reaching out.
It seems that something may be preventing SDK v6 from loading or rendering the buttons. This could be related to a JS conflict, a caching or optimization plugin, or your theme. The Debit & Credit Cards option also depends on SDK v6 confirming its availability, which could explain why it disappeared alongside the PayPal buttons.
I recommend performing a conflict test to rule out any compatibility issues with your theme or other plugins. Ideally, this should be done on a staging site to avoid affecting your live store.
- Activate the default theme: Temporarily switch to the Storefront theme.
- Disable other plugins: Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and PayPal Payments.
- Test the checkout: Check whether the Debit & Credit Cards option and PayPal buttons appear again.
- Re-enable plugins one by one: If the issue is resolved, reactivate your plugins individually, testing the checkout after each activation to identify the potential conflict.
It would also be helpful if you could check your browser’s developer console for any JavaScript errors when loading the checkout page. If you notice any, please share them with us.
As a temporary workaround, SDK v5 is still available through the woocommerce.feature-flags.woocommerce_paypal_payments.sdk_v6_enabled filter. However, I would prefer to investigate why SDK v6 is not working correctly on your site before recommending that you switch back.
Kind Regards
Krystian
Hi Krystian,
Changing to a default theme and disabling all plugins except Woocommerce and Woocommerce PayPal payments didn’t resolve the issue.
However there are numerous errors:

Hi @elainewildash
Thank you for testing.
This looks like it could be related to a domain mismatch. With the newer PayPal SDK v6, the client token is generated for a specific domain. If the checkout is accessed through a different domain, PayPal may reject the token with a 403 error. This could happen if you’re using a staging or temporary URL, if the WordPress site URL differs from the domain shown in your browser, or if there’s a multilingual or multi-domain setup.
As a first step, could you please try reconnecting your PayPal account?
- Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > PayPal > Settings.
- Click Disconnect.
- Select Start over when prompted.
- Complete the onboarding process again.
However, it’s difficult to determine the exact cause based on console errors alone.
If reconnecting doesn’t help, please reach out to us directly through our Request Support page so we can investigate further. Please include the URL of this support thread in your ticket for reference.
Kind Regards

Hi Krystian,
Thanks for your reply.
As you thought, disconnecting and reconnecting the sandbox PayPal account resolved the issue. Its an account that’s been connected to the staging site for a long while. Once the connection was reset its working as expected.
Note: It didn’t work initially when I used Firefox (as the instructions mentioned). Chrome worked OK.
Thanks for all your help.
