Fills a real gap in WordPress security
-
Installed OwnerTrail on my site and it covers something my other security tools never did: who actually controls the plugins I run. Malware scanners and vulnerability databases only react after bad code is out. OwnerTrail flags the warning signs that come earlier, like ownership changes, new committers, and dormant plugins that suddenly ship a release.
Setup was painless. Activation was instant, the first scan built a baseline in the background, and it stays quiet until something actually changes. The trust score per plugin, the committer history, and the acknowledge/mute options make it easy to review without alert fatigue.
The daily integrity check against wordpress.org checksums and the Code lock (editors disabled, one-hour unlock for owners) are great extras. I also appreciate the transparency: no telemetry, external calls clearly documented, and it is honest about what it does not do.
As a frontend developer with 11 years of experience, I can tell this was built with care. Highly recommended alongside your regular security scanner. Thanks, Kaustav!
