    WP Staging 4.17.0 is out.

Safer backup downloads, stronger backup folder protection, and smoother backup management.

    Highlights

    • Download and share backups through short-lived, secure links.
    • Protect backup files from direct web access.

    Fixes

    • Backups no longer fail when a file has a modification date before 1970 or after 2106.
    • Background jobs and plugin settings work reliably on sites using SQLite.
    • Line breaks in error messages can no longer create forged job-log entries.
    • Corrupted staging site reports no longer expose passwords, and temporary report files are removed.
    • The backup explorer opens large backups without running out of memory.
    • Restoring a site clears the LiteSpeed page cache even when the restore replaced or deactivated its plugin.
    • Subsite backups reject invalid or archived blog IDs instead of backing up the current site.
    • An interrupted backup no longer adds the same files twice and discards the completed backup.
    • Retrying a staging or Next-Gen Push job no longer replays database rows and fails on duplicate primary keys.

    New in WP Staging Pro

    • Browse remote backups faster.
    • Multisite network clones now use the correct .htaccess rewrite base.
    • Deleting a split backup now completes after all of its parts are removed.
    • The remote backup list finishes loading even when one connected storage reports an error.
    • Storage access tokens no longer appear in request errors written to job or debug logs.
    • Push operations keep the live site’s database prefix when listing tables.
    • Changing only a backup plan’s retention now preserves its scheduled day and missed-run record.
    • Legacy Push preserves the production wpstg_queue and wpstg_settings tables.
    • Backup listings and retention now include every page of backups on Google Drive, OneDrive, and S3 storage.
    • Expired temporary login links no longer log out administrators who signed in with their password.
    • The standalone restore tool correctly handles database credentials containing quotes or backslashes.
