• When “Quote” is enabled, participants can quote other users’ content in their replies. However, one thing I don’t understand is why the quoted content can be edited before the reply is submitted.

In my opinion, users should not be allowed to edit the quoted content, as doing so could alter the original meaning or context of the quoted content.

    Thanks for your query,

I simply took the code for this element from another plugin that was closed, so allow others to use it. I have no plans to do any major changes to this code.

You can argue either way. Many respondants want to only use part of the post they are quoting, to say respond to a particular point, which is why it allows editing.

Sorry, but that is the way it is.

    Thank you for your explanation.

I understand your point that some users may prefer to quote only specific parts of a post when responding to a particular point.

But I still feel that preventing users from altering the quoted content would be preferable, as it would help preserve the original meaning and context and avoid potential misunderstandings.

I understand that this is how the feature currently works and appreciate you taking the time to explain it.
