• Description of the bug

The administration UI is not accessible when Gutenberg’s full screen mode is disabled.

    Steps To Reproduce

    Either:

    1. Edit a Gutenberg-enabled post
    2. Press Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F to disable Gutenberg’s fullscreen editor.

    Or,

    1. Edit a Gutenberg-enabled post
    2. Open the editor options menu (three dots, top right)
    3. Disable “Full Screen Mode”

    Actual behaviour

    • Full screen editor is both enforced without regard for user preference,
    • No UI element to exit the editor,
    • Administration top bar and administration menu are not visible.

    Expected behaviour

    • Full screen editor toggles properly,
    • UI elements exist to navigate away from the editor interface.
    • Top bar and WordPress administration menu both visible.

    Hi @richardlampitt,

Thank you for the detailed report and the clear reproduction steps. They made this very easy to track down.

You were right: YOOAdmin’s Focus Mode was forcing the block editor into a full-screen layout and ignoring the Gutenberg preference. With full-screen mode off, that left no way to navigate away.

We had already been planning a new release, and this fix will be included in it. Here’s what changes:

The full-screen toggle is respected. Ctrl+Shift+Alt+F and the “Fullscreen mode” option in the editor’s options menu work as expected, and the editor opens in whichever mode you last chose.
Admin navigation is available when full-screen is off. The editor sits inside the admin interface, with the header and sidebar menu visible, so you can move to any other admin screen.
Full-screen mode is unchanged. With full-screen on, the editor stays distraction-free, with Gutenberg’s own back button.
One note: while Focus Mode is enabled, the navigation shown is YOOAdmin’s header and sidebar, not the default WordPress admin bar and menu, because Focus Mode replaces the WordPress admin chrome. If you’d prefer the native WordPress bar and menu, disabling Focus Mode restores them.

Thanks again for helping us improve YOOAdmin. We’ll let you know as soon as the update is live.

    Best regards,
    YOOPixel Team
