• I’m experiencing a publishing problem on a WordPress website using Elementor.Just wondered if anyone else had got this problem

    Versions:

    • Yoast SEO: 28.6
    • Elementor: 4.3.4
    • WordPress: 7.1.2
    • PHP: 8.2.34
    • Theme: Astra 4.2.1
    • Hosting: SiteGround
    • Elementor Pro is not active.

Clicking Publish in Elementor displays “Server Error” across multiple pages.

SiteGround reproduced the problem and tested by disabling plugins individually. Disabling Yoast SEO stopped the error. I have also confirmed that publishing works with Yoast disabled.

Increasing the memory allowance did not resolve it. A temporary PHP 7.4 test also made no difference; PHP has been returned to 8.2.

The logs repeatedly report “Cannot modify header information – headers already sent”, with output starting at elementor/core/files/css/base.php:244 and the warning reported at elementor/core/common/modules/ajax/module.php:269. We haven’t established whether this warning causes the publishing error.

Is this a known compatibility issue, and what further checks or fix might ve a good idea folks ?I have currently disabled Yoast but remains installed.

    Hello @gl26cc,

Thanks for the detailed information. Since Elementor publishing works when Yoast SEO is disabled, there does appear to be a conflict between Yoast SEO and the Elementor publishing request. However, the Cannot modify header information – headers already sent warning does not by itself tell us which plugin is producing the unexpected output. The Elementor file shown in the message may simply be where PHP detects the problem.

As a next step, could you test this in a staging site with only Yoast SEO and Elementor (and Elementor Pro, if applicable) active, while temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme such as Twenty Twenty-Five? If the problem still occurs, please provide the complete PHP error log from the time of a failed publish, particularly any warning/error that appears immediately before the headers already sent message.

Since SiteGround has already confirmed that disabling Yoast resolves the issue, those results would be useful for determining whether this is a Yoast/Elementor compatibility issue or something specific to the site’s environment.
