Hi @izabelagoilean12!
Thanks for providing the details. I understand your concern, especially since your products are still syncing successfully and you don’t want to disconnect the existing Google connection.
The Merchant API migration was introduced in Google for WooCommerce 3.8.0. Updating to 3.8.1 or any later version automatically handles the transition, so with version 3.9.5 installed, you do not need to manually migrate the connection in Google Cloud.
Regarding the message asking you to update to version 3.9.4, since you already have the newer 3.9.5 installed, we’ll need to investigate why that notice is still appearing. The “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” message is also something we’ll need to investigate separately.
For now, I would not recommend disconnecting your existing Google connection, especially since your products are still syncing successfully.
To investigate this further, could you please share the following?
- A screenshot of the message asking you to update to version 3.9.4.
- A screenshot of the “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page” message.
- Your WooCommerce → Status → System Status report.
- The relevant WooCommerce → Status → Logs entries from around the time you experience the issue.
You can share the System Status report and logs through Pastebin. For any sensitive information, please remove or redact it before sharing. If possible, please use Pastebin’s Burn After Reading option for the logs.
In the meantime, please clear your site/server cache and then try accessing Google for WooCommerce again. If you’re using a caching or optimization plugin, please also clear its cache. This can help rule out a cached version of the dashboard notice or plugin data.
Once we have these details, we can take a closer look at why the outdated migration notice is appearing and why the Google for WooCommerce settings page is inaccessible.
Hey @izabelagoilean12,
Adding to @shahzeenfarooq ‘s reply: The notice to update to the latest version shows up only for users who are on v3.8.0 or earlier. I tested this on a brand new site with v3.9.5 installed and confirmed that the upgrade notice did not show up.
If the notice shows up in your store while you are in the latest version, then this indicates that one of the previous updates did not complete successfully and the system still thinks that you are in an earlier version.
To confirm this, can you please visit www.[YOUR URL HERE].com/wp-admin/options.php and search for entries: gla_db_version, gla_file_version and gla_install_version: https://d.pr/i/BTn95B.
If one of these fields are not filled with 3.9.5, then I recommend to temporarily disable, delete and re-install the extension. Re-installing the plugin does not disconnect your Google accounts.
Let us know how it goes!
Hi Jason,
I checked the values in /wp-admin/options.php as you suggested. The plugin is currently installed on the latest version (3.9.5), but the version values are still showing 3.6.0.
I also temporarily disabled, deleted and re-installed the plugin, but the values are still showing 3.6.0 after the reinstallation.
Could you please advise me on how I can update these values correctly, or what I should do next to fix the upgrade notice?
Thank you!
