    Hi,

I updated your plugin to 5.4.0, and now when I try to log into the back office, hCaptcha throws this message: “hcaptcha bad signature!”

For info, the site also runs WordFence, WPS Hide Login and WP Rocket. Everything was working fine before your update.

I tried disabling two-factor authentication, but I still get the same error.

So I rolled back to version 5.3.0.

    Best regards

    Hi,

Thank you for the report. We’ve prepared hCaptcha 5.4.1 RC1 with changes to form registration and verification that may address this error. Could you try it on a staging copy of your site?

Please keep your Wordfence, WPS Hide Login, WP Rocket, and hCaptcha settings the same, clear the WP Rocket cache after installing the ZIP, and try logging in from a new private browser window.

Let us know whether the error persists. If it does, please tell us whether it appears on the login form or on a separate 403 page, and what value you have set for “Login Attempts Before hCaptcha.” Please don’t share credentials or hCaptcha keys.

Thank you for helping us verify the fix before the final release.

Same issue with the RC release:

Error on the login page above the login box: Bad hCaptcha signature!

Also used wp-cli to disable the plugin and able to login again
Plugin actually had wordpress login toggle disabled so it’s strange to block the entire wp-login with a hcaptcha error.

@tcwebfree I found issue with WordFence, and fixed in it the v5.4.1-RC2. Please try and let me know.

Even with the provided RC it does not work and it kind of stresses me out that I had to disable hCaptcha now since we use it at very important contact forms and for all logins.

Got latest Wordfence too and always latest WP.

@ryder203 which of the provided RCs did you try – RC1 or RC2? Also, I need System Info from your site to identify the problem.

Same problem and hCaptcha 5.4.1 RC1 is unavailable.

@roundaboutweb, yes, it is unavailable for a reason. In this thread, RC2 is already mentioned. Please check and let me know.

There is no update available for 5.4.0 yet.
Please send a valid link to download RC2.

RC2 is mentioned in my comment above. Here is the direct link to download it.

I have experienced this issue with logging in as well. I am not going to use the RC version I can wait for an update. Right now I am using the web host management software to log in to my website.

@ms416 I have started the 5.4.1 release process. It takes some time. A new version should be available for download from wp.org tomorrow.

Version 5.4.1 is released, you can download it from the plugin page on wp.org.
