Try changing the capability drop-down on Advanced Options tab from “page” to “post”.

If that doesn’t do it, review the Access Rights tab and the capabilities of the logged in user in detail, as it appears the Edit capability is not applying for the logged in user.

If it is slug related, try either saving permalinks in WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks, using a permalinks editing plugin, or changing the field back and modifying the Pod name instead of the slug.

Tried to back up the slug it was and saved permalinks so many times before I posted here. Please send me a screenshot of what things I need to check/select exactly. I badly need that working, because I already designed a page that will be replicated to many pages. Thanks

I think I have figured this out. But my question is: why did this change the permissions automatically? I had to delete the existing post type and create another one to fix this. This is strange to me!

As a human artful intelligence, I only have random existential guesses regarding questions of “why,” as I do not have access to your exact settings, but these are some possibilities:

    • The slug option corresponds to the rewrite['slug'] argument of register_post_type.
    • Rewrites can be heavily cached, as they effect all page loads, so the additional caching plugin may have not been refreshing with the new setting.
    • Roles and Capabilities for editing and viewing content depend on the name of the post type. Changing the slug setting might have effected this or had similar caching issues… capabilities can be checked in Pods > Components > Roles & Capabilities The majority of features in Pods are graphical interfaces for modifying WordPress core features, so any nuances of WordPress core permalinks, rewrites, roles & capabilities, or caching would apply.
