• Hello. For some time now, the “Load sample products” option hasn’t been working for certain languages; in my case, it fails for both es_CO and es_ES. I am using the latest versions of WordPress and WooCommerce on a new project. There are no other plugins installed. I am sharing some screenshots. Thanks for help

A common workaround is to temporarily switch your WordPress site language to English (United States) in Settings > General. Once the site is in English, run the Load sample products option. After the products import successfully, you can change your site language back to Spanish. The imported products will remain and you can edit them normally.

Yes I know that. But how we can fix it? It’s a known issue by Woocommerce team?

    Hi @jupa8,

Thanks for reaching out, and for mentioning it’s a fresh site with no other plugins, that helps a lot.

I tried to reproduce this on a clean site running WooCommerce 11.1.2 and WordPress 7.1.1. With the site set to both Español (España) and Español (Colombia), loading the sample products worked each time: all 9 products were created with their images.

Unfortunately the screenshots you shared don’t load on our end, so I can’t see the error you’re getting. Could you upload them to https://snipboard.io/ and share the link here?

It would also help to know:

    1. Where you’re clicking “Load sample products” (for example, the Products task on the WooCommerce Home screen).
    2. The exact error message you see.
    3. Whether anything shows up under WooCommerce > Status > Logs around the time you tried it.

With that, we can dig into what’s different on your site.

Hi @gabrielfuentes, Here a Video. Let me know if this help. Thanks

    Hi @jupa8,

Thanks for the video, that showed exactly what’s going on!

The “Load sample products” option itself works fine in Spanish. The problem is the link to it.

In the Spanish translation of that sentence, the link markers have a small typo (a missing curly brace), so instead of showing “Sube productos de prueba” as a link, the page shows the raw text with {{LspLink}} and {/LspLink}}. That’s why there’s nothing to click. The same typo is in both Español (España) and Español (Colombia), which matches what you’re seeing.

Until the translation is corrected, you can get the link back by switching only your own profile to English, so the rest of the site stays in Spanish:

    1. Go to Users > Profile.
    2. Set Language to English (United States) and save.
    3. Go back to Add your products and click “Load Sample Products”.
    4. Once the products are loaded, set your profile language back to Español.

WooCommerce translations are done by volunteers on translate.wordpress.org, so the fix needs to happen there. If you have a WordPress.org account, you can suggest the corrected version for that sentence here:

    Español (España): https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/woocommerce/stable/es/default/?filters%5Bterm%5D=Start+Blank
    Español (Colombia): https://translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp-plugins/woocommerce/stable/es-co/default/?filters%5Bterm%5D=Start+Blank

The corrected version just needs the extra curly brace in the closing markers: {{/sbLink}} and {{/LspLink}}.

    Hope that helps!

Hi @gabrielfuentes, I figured it had to do with the translations. I tried looking for that string in the translations yesterday but couldn’t. I didn’t know how to filter the strings, and WooCommerce has so many of them. I’ve just suggested the corrections on translate.wordpress, I’m a volunteer :D.
    Thanks.
