• I’ve just finished a bulk 60k conversion of images to WEBP using the free local conversion and have found that EWWW seems to have ignored the crop positioning for some (if not all – far too many to check) thumbnails.

    For example, I have a thumbnail named “card”:

    add_image_size( 'card', 500, 400, array( 'center', 'top' ), true );

    The example_image-500×400.jpg thumbnail is correctly cropped with center & top, but the example_image-500×400.jpg.webp version appears to be center & center, which results in heads of staff photos being cut off!

    What would cause this to happen?

    Just to add, we are hosted with WP Engine.

    Hi @stylishjm

    I copied and added your thumbnail size (what you have there) to a test server and tried it out with a few different images. All of them seemed to crop the image the same way, whether it was JPG or WebP, center/top justified. Is it possible that the thumbnail was created before the cropped version (and maybe you need to do a thumbnail regen)?

    Could you share the system info from the support tab of the plugin settings (you can put it on paste.bin or send it to me directly https://ewww.io/contact-us/ and click on the email option)
