Upload error. No files found for upload.

As of about two weeks ago, users and admins can’t upload files and receive the message “Upload error. No files found for upload.”. I’ve checked WPFM logs (no entries), wordpress logs (no entries) and server logs (also no entries).

I’ve been able to ftp a file to its designated folder but not with WP File Manager Pro. I’ve tried both pdf and xls files which we’ve always been able to upload, but no go.
