I can’t connect the site

    I want to connect a website to our WordFence Central dashboard. I’m getting always the error:

    Unable to communicate with Wordfence plugin. Please verify Wordfence is installed and activated on this site.

    Reinstalled WordFence already, no result.

    Hi Jan,

    Thanks for reaching out. Something is causing the entire site to load a placeholder page. You can view this by visiting wp-json/wordfence/v1 on your site, which should normally show JSON output. This prevents Wordfence Central from communicating with the site.

    Please allow Wordfence Central’s IP addresses (54.68.32.247, 44.235.211.232, and 54.71.203.174) to bypass this. Let us know if you still have trouble once Wordfence Central can access the site normally.

    Hey Jan,

    I suspect the site loads differently if you’re logged in. Please try using another browser or an incognito window where you’re not logged in to check the site. Central needs to be able to access the REST API as an unauthenticated user.
