Quick scan after update

    Hi, can Wordfence run a quickscan after a core/plugin/theme update, only on the updated files?

    Currently I manually start a full scan after an update to check that the update doesn’t introduce malware. I wonder if it’s possible to get that done automatically. Also when you install something new.

    Hi @jpnl,

    On Wordfence Free, a quick scan with a limited set of checks runs once a day, and a full scan runs every 72 hours. Wordfence’s daily checks include WordPress core updates, outdated plugins/themes, and any plugins or themes with known vulnerabilities so you get alerted ASAP even if a full scan isn’t due to run that day.

    The WP Cron system that triggers scheduled scans (unless the DISABLE_WP_CRON constant is being used) is also responsible for automatic WordPress/plugin updates so sometimes these will happen close together anyway on sites with less traffic. I’ll certainly pass on your thoughts as our development team consider all customer suggestions, so may find a way to reliably integrate a quick scan after other updates have completed.
