I have turned off lazy loading because icons on https://wheel-easy.org.uk/ride-calendar/ were showing as full size following the latest update 7.8.3 despite being set at eg 14px w 14px h
Disabling the lazy loading feature entirely on your website is not the ideal solution. For specific setups like yours, where certain pages are affected by the feature, we have added custom filters in Speed Optimizer. You can check the guide below on how you can exclude the page in question from lazy loading while leaving the feature enabled:
Alternatively, if you prefer to keep lazy loading on that page for other images, you can exclude just the CSS classes by navigating to Speed Optimizer > Media > Exclude CSS Classes in your WordPress dashboard.

Thanks for your useful response. I have been in touch with SiteGround support team to inform them of this bug – seems there’s been a number of the same issue reported so looking forward to a proper fix soon.
Just wanted to post here as well since this is marked as “Resolved”. While the comments have been responded to and the problem acknowledged, the problem has yet to be resolved. Releasing a fix “in an upcoming version”, timeline undetermined (several more days? weeks?), for websites that you made look like this, which you’ve already known about for several days…
I just want to make sure you understand the seriousness of the problem created by making all images with one set dimension and one “auto” dimension, to have auto be either 3000px wide or 1500px high… that’s a really broad reaching problem and very, very big (literally) embarassing problem.
We’ve got egg on our faces here. Can you please throw us some paper towels at least?
Please rest assured that we are not taking this matter lightly. Our plugin developers are already working on a fix. However, at this time, we cannot provide an ETA for when the updated version containing the fix will be released, as the release timeline depends on the development and testing process.
In the meantime, the available workarounds are (as outlined earlier in the current thread):
Excluding the affected page from lazy loading using a custom filter.
Excluding the relevant CSS classes from lazy loading.
Disabling Lazy Loading entirely.
Downgrading the Speed Optimizer plugin to version 7.8.2.
If you prefer to downgrade the plugin, our Support team can perform the downgrade for you. Please open a support ticket through your SiteGround account and indicate that you would like the Speed Optimizer plugin downgraded to version 7.8.2. Our team will then assist you with the process.
