We are upgrading our server infrastructure to WordPress 7.1 running on PHP 8.3/PHP 8.4.

We currently use your “Custom Permalinks” plugin and need to confirm its compatibility before executing the upgrade. Could you please let us know:

    1. Is version 1.19.3 fully tested and stable on PHP 8.3 and PHP 8.4?
    2. Are there any known PHP Deprecated warnings or strict-typing issues under these versions?
    3. Is it fully compatible with WordPress 7.1 core architecture?

Our company policy requires developer verification before shifting live server environments. Thank you for your assistance!

    Hi

Thanks for checking before you migrate.

Custom Permalinks has never had a v1.19.3 release, so the version you’re running may be a different plugin. Can you check Plugins > Installed Plugins and confirm the plugin name, author and version? If it says Custom Permalinks with version v1.19.3, someone may have modified it, and we can’t vouch for custom changes. In either case, I recommend installing the official release from WordPress.org (currently v3.2.0).

    For the official current release:

    • PHP 8.3 / 8.4: The codebase passes PHPCompatibility checks from PHP 7.0 through 8.4 with no errors or warnings, and lints cleanly on PHP 8.4. Earlier PHP 8 deprecations, such as passing null to string parameters, were fixed in previous releases.
    • Deprecations / strict typing: We know of none on PHP 8.3 or 8.4, and that includes PHP 8.4’s deprecation of implicitly nullable parameters.
    • WordPress 7.1: The plugin is marked “Tested up to: 7.1”.

Before the switch, we suggest updating on a staging copy first and checking a few custom permalinks: posts, pages, terms and any custom post types. Then confirm that redirects work as expected. If you see any notice or warning, post the full message here and we’ll look into it.

    Regards
    Sami
