Is there any chance, maybe within some extra php-code (functions.php), to change the logic of »term« and »definition« inside the shortcode? I found it very confusing, that the tooltip itself (definition) will be written as normal text and the highlighted text shown on the site is part of the shortcode itself.
I would like to set the order/logic to: [tooltip tip="Definition"]Term[/tooltip]

Thanks for bringing this up. I can see the logic in the format you’ve proposed so I’ve added your syntax as an alternative in the latest version of the plugin. CiteKit now supports both:

    [tooltip tip=”Term”]Definition[/tooltip] – current

    and

    [tooltip definition=”Definition”]Term[/tooltip] – new

This lets users use whichever structure feels more natural to them, while existing shortcodes continue to work unchanged.

The change is available in version 4.3.2, so no additional code is needed on your end.

How cool is that, that’s much more than I ever expected. Fantastic – thanks a lot!
