Excellent plugin for a specific workflow

    I’m giving 4WP Drive 5 stars because, for my workflow, it is currently the only plugin I have found that does exactly what I need: importing an article together with its images while preserving the original image filenames.

    I use it actively, and overall I’m very satisfied with it.

    For future users, I would just like to mention two things I discovered during regular use:

    • New folders added to incoming do not always appear immediately. In my case, clearing the WordPress/cache makes them visible.
    • DOCX files containing tables may be parsed incorrectly in Preview. If this happens, removing the table before import solves the issue. After the article is imported, the table can be inserted back into Gutenberg manually.

    These are not reasons for me to lower the rating. I’m mentioning them simply so other users know what they may encounter and do not have to spend hours diagnosing the cause.

    For my specific requirements, 4WP Drive is an extremely useful plugin, and I’m happy to continue using it.

    These issues were encountered while using version 1.5.0.

    Every user’s feedback matters to us – including potential users – so our products keep getting better and help people reach their goals.

    New folders under incoming/
    We ran into this early while rolling out and actively using the plugin on MediaPress and other media properties. We tightened sync checks and added the manual Sync control in the top-right of Incoming, but refresh can still feel slow because of Google Drive API rate limits (reasonable protection against overload).

    We also built a tree-style view of the Drive layout for a clearer, more practical workflow. We were ready to ship it (tested in 1.5.8), including on MediaPress and Enterprise pipelines, but load testing against large source file trees exposed performance issues. We postponed that release and are optimizing it now for an upcoming 1.6 line.

    DOCX files with tables in Preview
    Not every standard core block is recognized cleanly yet. Each release we expand what we parse, and Patterns let you define custom mappings – but that path is still not always ideal. If you can share a Google Drive link to one sample file that includes a table, we will reproduce it and prepare a fix.
