Generates excessive traffic

I have been using the free version of this plugin for a few years now on all my websites, but lately, I have noticed that my WooCommerce website is slowing down during the afternoon and night.

At first I did not worry so much, as it is normal for websites to slow down as the number of users increase, but then it slowed down so much that my clients started complaining about Service Unavailable errors so I ask my server host to look into this, thinking that the issue mush be with them. Their report back, left me dumbfounded…

It is normal for any plugin to generate traffic back to the host website; usually 20-60 requests per hour, but what we have found is that this plugin generates more traffic as the user count increases. My server log showed that on average, that this plugin generated around 8,530 requests per hour, but that it peaked at a ridiculous 15,066 requests an hour at peak times! It generates so much traffic back to itself that your website literally slows down to a crawl and then stops working all together. I disabled this plugin and immediately my website was much more responsive than before!

I am not angry or anything. I still think this is a wonderful plugin to have, but there is a serious coding issue in this plugin that must be addressed. If you have this plugin installed on your website, then please be aware if this issue.
