Link/dropdown controls unresponsive — checklist.min.js TypeError

    Elementor version: 4.2.4
    WordPress version: 7.1
    PHP version: 7.4.33

    When editing widgets (e.g. Heading), the plain text “Title” field works normally, but the “Link” field and “Size” dropdown do not respond at all — no network request fires when clicking into them, and they never accept input.

    Console error on every page load in the editor:

    TypeError: Cannot read properties of null (reading ‘parentElement’)
    at ToggleIcon.apply (checklist.min.js?ver=4.2.4:2:47938)
    at ToggleIcon.run (web-cli.min.js?ver=4.2.4:2:96576)
    at Commands.runInstance (web-cli.min.js?ver=4.2.4:2:27841)
    at Commands.run (web-cli.min.js?ver=4.2.4:2:27683)
    at checklist.min.js?ver=4.2.4:2:50250

    Already tried, no change:

    • Disabled “Inline Font Icons” and “Element Caching” in Elementor > Settings
    • Deactivated all other plugins except Elementor and WPForms
    • Tested in an incognito window
    • Confirmed no admin-ajax.php request fires when clicking the Link field

    This matches other reports of the same error (wordpress.org/support/?p=18912673, ?p=18922440). Any workaround or fix available?

    I would like to ask you to please make a video of you doing this and seeing the issue on your end, so that I can know how to replicate it on my end and assist you better by pinpointing the issue faster.

    Also, please tell me more about the device you are using and the browser, as it greatly helps narrow down the possible culprit of this issue.     Thank you for looking into this! Here’s a video showing the exact issue, including the console error:

    Device/Browser details:

    • Browser: Google Chrome, version 152.0.7977.83 (64-bit)
    • OS: Windows 10 Home Single Language, version 22H2
    • Also tested in an Incognito window with the same result (rules out extensions)
    • Elementor version: 4.2.4
    • WordPress version: 7.1
    • PHP version: 7.4.33

    Thank you for sharing the video and the error.

    As I can see, the issue here is regarding the widget panel that is not able to load. This can occur due to some factors. We have a guide to help you with this – https://elementor.com/help/elementor-widget-panel-not-loading/

    Could you please check this and confirm if all the settings of server side like PHP Memory are all set?

    This can also happen due to a conflict so it can be troubleshooted by creating a backup and then temporarily disabling other plugins and changing the theme of the site and then check again.
