• I have never felt so nervous about a Duplicator version release than I do with 5.0.0, from the second it was installed, it felt like a completely different (and unstable) plugin

It is enqueuing scripts where it shouldn’t be and that is causing problems, one example is it’s enqueuing Select2 on pages that don’t need it, which is conflicting with numerous plugins

Please, give us back the Duplicator we love and rely on

    Hi @mohobook,

Thank you for sharing this feedback, and we’re sorry to hear 5.0.0 has felt unstable for you.

We want to give some context on this release: previously, Duplicator maintained two separate codebases, which made it harder to keep things fully consistent. With 5.0.0, we’ve unified this into a single codebase, which should make the plugin more maintainable and reliable going forward. That said, a change of this scale can surface edge cases we haven’t caught yet, and your report about Select2 being enqueued unexpectedly is exactly the kind of detail that helps us track that down.

We’d really like to make this better together. Could you help us pinpoint the issue by sharing:

    • A list of other active plugins on your site (in case there’s a conflict)
    • A backup build log from the Tools > Duplicator log’s.

You’re also welcome to reach out to us directly at https://duplicator.com/contact so we can dig into this together and get it resolved.

Thanks again for taking the time to report this!

So far, the only plugin I ran into serious issues with was wsform, it became unusable, and because of that, I had to deactivate Duplicator, therefore I don’t know what other plugins would have stopped working, but Select2 is a very popular library, so I assume Duplicator 5.0.0 is causing havoc in the wild

I can’t send you a backup log because I won’t take the risk of running a backup in an application I no longer recognize, and I don’t even feel safe rolling back

I’m sorry, I don’t mean to sound harsh but this was a completely unexpected upgrade
