    Hi!

There seems to be an issue with signing in to the WordPress admin. Wordfence’s 2FA is enabled, but it isn’t prompting for verification and is allowing users to log in directly to the admin dashboard. This issue is occurring across multiple websites that we manage, although some sites are still prompting for the 2FA code.

    Hi @jbalena ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

A couple of questions to start:

    1. Are the affected sites running the most recent version of Wordfence?
    2. On the affected sites, could you check Wordfence > Login Security > Settings and confirm which roles are set to require two-factor authentication, and what the grace period is set to? It’s worth comparing this against a site where 2FA is still prompting correctly, in case the affected sites have a different role or grace period configuration.
    3. Do the affected sites use a caching plugin? If so, is it also active on the sites that are still prompting for 2FA correctly?

Once we have this, we’ll dig further and follow up with next steps.

    Thanks,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for the steps. I neglected to check into those and confirmed that we have our IP whitelisted. I will go ahead and mark this as solved.

    Thanks you
