Cannot use search when logged into admin

When i try to use the searchfield as a logged in admin i cannot type into the field, all i see is the “edit filter”. Update… does not work neiter when logged out… so searchfield cannot be used now by anyone ?? Any ideas, can this be caused by a recent update ?
