Word hypenation problem

I am using a premium theme on one of the sites and somehow i can not disable the word hypenation, which means that words in first and last column break in the middle. i would like them to automatically jump into new line if they are too long ( i am sorry, i cant explain more clearly ).

I have entered the following into the style.css but it doesnt do anything:

.one-third .et-shadow .et-box-content {
    white-space: pre-wrap;

Any help would be very much appreciated.
