    Dear Support,

We use the integration of Cleantalk with FluentForms and we received multiple comments from customers that they couldn’t send / submit contact forms, as their entry was marked as spam by Cleantalk.

What would you recommend to address this issue? Can we make Cleantalk less strict in what it regards as spam?

The setting we used was “Mark as Spam and Skip Processing”.

We have now switched to “Mask as Spam“, in the hope that this permits the spam submission and simply marks it as a spam.

Could you explain the difference between the three settings: “Mask as Spam“, “Make the Form Submission as failed“ and “Mark as Spam and Skip Processing”. It may seem obvious but I would appreciate a clarification, as the support documents don’t state what each setting does.

Many thanks for your help on this.

    Piet

    Hello Piet.

If you select the “Make the Form Submission as failed” option, you will not see records that have been flagged as spam in the Entries section. The other two options will place spam submissions in the Entries section with a “spam” label. Most likely, with the “Mark as Spam and Skip Processing” option, the visitor will see a message indicating that the submission was blocked if the request is marked as spam, while with the “Mark as Spam” option, the visitor will see that the form was submitted successfully. But that’s just my guess. The integration is being developed on the FluentForms side.

We need to analyze the requests from your website to determine the cause of the false positives. Could you tell us the name of your site or its Service #? You can find the Service # here: your CleanTalk dashboard → the “Settings” button under your site name.

Also, please mark records in your Anti-Spam Log where our service made wrong decision according to this guide: https://cleantalk.org/help/feedback-spam. Write to us after. We will analyze these requests.
