event count is always 5

    Hi,

    I’m not sure if this is new in the 3.8.x versions or has been around before…

    My settings in tab Display under grid options are:

    • Mobile view = “no change” (this makes it easier to see the bug on mobile) on my test site
    • Mobile view = “switch to list view” on my live site

    If I open the My Calendar page on my test site and narrow down the width of the browser window until it switches to a list view, then the event count is always displayed as “(5 events)”, no matter how many events are on that day. You get the same view (with the above setting for test site) on a mobile in VERTICAL orientation, in horizontal orientation it is wide enough and switches to grid view.

    This list view of the narrow grid (I have no better word for it) is different from the usual list view! The usual list view is ok and does not show any event count (without the list option “Show the first event’s title and number of events…”) or the correct number of events (with the list option “Show the first event’s title and number of events…”), respectively. The “narrow grid” list view is NOT affected by the settings under list options, esp. the “Show the first event’s title and number of events…” (it always looks the same).

    You can compare the two different list views now on a mobile in vertical orientation:

    • Test site (with the “narrow grid” list view showing the bug)
    • Live site (with the usual list view, correct!)

    If you open the above links on a desktop with a very narrow browser window, they both show the bug (so obviously what triggers the “Mobile view” is more than just a narrow browser…)

    The colors are also different in the two list views: the “narrow grid” list view obeys the colors I have set in the Design tab (that’s why I like this more), the usual list view does not show any colors.

    My minimum request would be to correct the event count in the “narrow grid” list view!

    Even better: the “narrow grid” list view should obey the settings under List options (then I can decide if event count is shown at all) OR the usual list view should obey the color settings in the Design tab (esp. the –date-has-events-bg).

    Some questions come to my mind as well:

    • what’s the purpose of having two different list views at all?
    • what exactly triggers the switch to “Mobile view”?

    One of the list views is an actual HTML change, and is switched to either by choosing the ‘List’ view or by loading the site on a mobile device that’s recognized by the wp_is_mobile() core WordPress function.

    The one that appears when you narrow the screen is the grid/table view, but modified into a list appearance using CSS so that it fits on a narrow screen.

    I’m looking at the event count; that definitely seems wrong!
