Edit Snippet?

    What’s the purpose of this new Edit Snippet being added to the admin menu in the recent Version 3.10.0? I select it and it prompts me to simply create a new snippet.

    Hi @lookwhoo,

    This extra menu item should only appear when you are currently editing a snippet, simply to show which page you are on. As you discovered, due to a limitation in how the WordPress admin menu works, selecting it will just lead you to the Add New Page.

    I don’t follow. It’s showing globally in the menu dropdown even when I’m not currently editing a snippet.

    I’m using Admin Menu Editor pro and there’s some other admin users I don’t want accessing the Snippets area, at all. This new addition adds that menu after I’ve assigned that whole area hidden upon the recent update. I can hide that too but I’m just not understanding why it’s there when we can access the edit inside the Snippets dashboard.
