Login with Passkey giving error

    I have created a Passkey for the main admin role. Passkeys are shown as optional for admins, and it shows that there is 1 passkey active for an administrator. However, when trying to login using a different browser I get an error ‘ERROR: The username or password you entered is incorrect, or the account you were trying to authenticate as requires logging in using a passkey. Lost your password or need help with a lost passkey?’

    Hi @gpbell, thanks for reaching out!

    It sounds like the passkey was saved in a different browser but shouldn’t be required in another because its “Optional” status allows for username/password input as usual. Can you just confirm for me that you didn’t uncheck, “Allow username/password authentication” in Wordfence > Login Security?

    If your admin is still set to “Optional” passkeys and that checkbox is checked, it’d be great to see a diagnostic report. You can send that to wftest @ wordfence . com from the top of the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page. Click on “Send Report by Email”.
