Animated webp oddness

I have an animated gif. If I upload it, Cimo converts it and flattens it. So I pivot and convert to an animated webp and then upload. In the editor this looks fine, the animation is there. On the front end it’s flat, no animation. This feels like it shouldn’t be Cimo’s fault, since obviously there’s animation, I can see it in the editor. But I can’t think of what else it would be. Ideally it would simply convert the gif properly.
