    Hi there,

We’re currently looking at moving our client from the VibeAgency “Clone Orders” plugin over to yours with the potential to upgrade to the paid “Advanced Order Actions” version as soon as your dedicated team for the premium extension can clarify a few answers for us.

When cloning orders with the VibeAgency “Clone Orders” plugin, not only can we specify the order status for the newly cloned order – which I know is available in the paid version of your Order Splitter plugin – but the newly cloned order also has the payment method set as n/a by default. It seems that your plugin, however, uses the same payment method that was on the original order which causes issues with most payment methods. E.g., when cloning an order that was previously paid by Credit Card via Stripe, the newly cloned order would still have the same payment method assigned but no transaction ID added. That means admins will always have to go into the payment method to toggle it from Credit Card to whatever payment method the cloned order should use – in many cases it would be n/a as the cloned order will be a free order.

What are the chances, for your free plugin, that you could add either an option for admins to choose whether to use the same payment method for the cloned order as the original order had or just by default assign the n/a payment method to the cloned order and then admins can select the appropriate payment method for the cloned order?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hi there,

Thanks for the detailed feedback. We’re preparing to release a new update for the Advanced Order Actions Premium plugin today, and we’ll include this functionality in the update as well.

This will allow cloned orders to handle the payment method more appropriately instead of simply inheriting the original order’s payment method.

    Thanks again for the suggestion!

@jacobb26 – thanks so much for the quick reply!

That’s great – will it also be available in the free plugin version? I am not trying to score a bargain, but it’s always challenging for me to move clients from the plugin they’re currently using to a more expensive one when certain features (that may be considered quite basic) aren’t available in the free version for them to test first… Currently I can’t convince them to get the premium version yet because the main part that they’d be using – order splitting – doesn’t seem to be fully supporting the automation they’re looking for yet, or I can’t find it. I’m waiting for your team to get back to me on that (I’ve submitted a sandbox feedback form already with my questions).

    Hi there,

We’ve now released the new Advanced Order Actions Premium version, which includes the new options for the Duplicate action.

You can test the updated functionality directly in our sandbox here:

    https://sandbox.yoohw.com/demo/wcaoa_demo.html

There are two ways to try it:

    • Open an individual order and, in the Order actions metabox, click Duplicate.
    • From the Orders page, use Bulk actions → Duplicate order(s) and click Apply.

In either case, the new Duplicate modal will open and let you configure the duplicate order options before creating it.

We’d be happy for you to test the workflow there and see whether it fits your client’s requirements.
