• Dear BackWPUp Support Team,

first thanks a lot for your great plugin.
running wordpress 7.0.3 and BackWPUp 5.7.5

When downloading a backup I onle get admin.htm instead of a tar.gz file.

    anyone experiencing this too?

    How can I fix this?

    Hi Becki,

Thank you for your kind words and for reaching out!

I just tested this on my end with BackWPUp 5.7.5, but I wasn’t able to reproduce the issue. The backup downloads correctly as the expected archive file.

This could be caused by a browser issue or a conflict with another plugin or security feature on the site.

Could you please try the following?

    • Try downloading the backup using a different browser or an incognito/private window.
    • Temporarily disable any download manager or security-related plugins to see if the behavior changes.
    • Also, could you check whether the backup file exists correctly at its storage destination? If so, are you able to download it directly from there (for example, via FTP or your hosting file manager)?

Please let me know the results.

    Hello @saranshwpm,

    thanks for your reply 😉

it’s actually not happening on all sites. Some sites it works. Others offer me the admin.htm to download.

already tried the inkognito browser tab or delete the browser cache. still the same results.

if I look via FTP the backup tar ist there

there are no download manager plugins nor security realted plugins installed.

will keep observing and reporting back.

    thanks again
    & with best regards

    Hello @saranshwpm,

did give it a try today again.

On some sites the download now works. on some other sites still the admin.htm

But I also suspect that this seems to be a browser and caching issue.

therefore will mark as resolved and thanks again for your plugin
& keep up the good work you’re doing

    best regards
    Becki
