• Hi, I have a small problem with the admin search feature, or maybe I misunderstood how it works.

I have enabled the “admin search” in the settings. Then I indexed some custom fields in my products and I confirmed that they are indexed correctly. Searching for them in the frontend returns results, and so does the “Admin search” page (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=relevanssi_admin_search).

But when seraching in the admin product list /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=product with the custom field, no results are found. Is this the intended behavior? I expected to return the same results as the admin search and frontend search form. The setting description says “Use Relevanssi for searches inside the WordPress dashboard.”, so I guess that it should be working on that page too, right?

Sorry if this a stpd question, but I did not find any explanation on the documentation, or a previous support topic (sorry if I missed it).

    Thanks for your time.

It should work there, but the product search in particular has turned out to be unreliable.

I haven’t been able to replicate the problem, but several people have reported during the years that the product search is not using Relevanssi. The only solution I know is to use the Relevanssi Admin Search – that is always reliably Relevanssi-powered.

I do know the admin search does not work for hierarchical post types, like pages, but products generally aren’t a hierarchical post type.

Do you use WooCommerce or some other plugin for the products?
