Looking for alternative theme options for future website

Our current website uses a pretty old WordPress theme (Cardinal). After some digging, I discovered the developer (Switft Ideas) is now defunct and no longer supports or provides any updates. Presently, we are not having any issues regarding working on the website, but I have found a few theme settings that no longer work after updating to the current version of WordPress (7.0.3) and this concerns me regarding future compatibility when newer versions of WordPress and PHP are released that could eventually break the website.

For this reason, I believe we need to proactively find a new theme to migrate and/or build the website in, preventing future issues. I have found a few options, but I personally feel like GeneratePress is a solid solution. It has received great reviews for its robust features while also  being lightweight (not heavy on server-side load times). Other options I’ve come across are Divi, Astra, Kadence and Neve.

I wanted to get other WordPress users opinion and if there are any other options they would recommend that is has the right combination of features, is lightweight while also being actively supported by it’s developer.
