Thank you very much for the feedback. I have tried the plugin I still don’t see the invoice menu after creating a new user role and also selecting the plugin access for the user role. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Kindly help

I’ve been testing this for several hours, and I believe I’ve identified the issue.
It appears that the plugin wasn’t built to support non-Administrator roles (at least from everything I’ve tested). I initially tried using a Role Manager plugin to grant the required capabilities to a custom role, but regardless of the permissions I assigned, users with that custom role were either:
- Redirected to the WooCommerce “My Account” page after logging in, or
- Unable to access the WordPress admin area at all.
I then used custom code to bypass those restrictions, which allowed the custom role to access the WordPress admin and see the Invoices menu. However, when the user clicks the Invoices menu, the plugin fails to load and displays the following errors:
- “Cannot load digages-direct-invoices.”
- The request to
wp-admin/admin.php?page=digages-direct-invoices returns 500 Internal Server Error.
From my testing, it seems there are additional permission or role checks within the plugin that assume the user is an Administrator. Could you please confirm whether the plugin currently supports custom WordPress roles? If so, what capabilities are required for a non-Administrator role to access and use the plugin correctly?
I also wanted to make a small suggestion. I really like this plugin and would love to continue using it. I think it would be a great addition if future versions included built in role and permission management, similar to how Jetpack CRM handles user access. That way, site owners could create users such as Invoice Managers and grant them access only to the Direct Invoices plugin and the specific features they need, without having to give them full Administrator privileges.
I believe this would make the plugin much more practical for businesses where different staff members handle invoicing, while also improving security by following the principle of least privilege.
