    Does Media Library Assistant support bulk-importing different Alt Text values for different attachments from an external CSV file — matched by image URL or filename? I have a spreadsheet with 319 rows, each with a unique image URL and its own alt text value, and I need to apply them to existing Media Library items without recreating or re-uploading the images. I see the plugin handles IPTC/EXIF metadata already embedded in files and bulk-edits shared field values, but I want to confirm whether it can read distinct values from an external CSV per item. If not directly, is there an example plugin or hook that would let this work?

    Thanks for your question. Bulk importing from a CSV has come up before and I developed an example plugin to support it. Here is the original announcement:

    You can ignore the part about installing the Development Version; the example plugin has been part of the official MLA versions for quite a while.

    The current version supports matching on file name. It also supports on matching by the “base” name, which typically includes the upload year and month, because uploading the same file more than once is a common occurrence. Matching on URL is a good idea and I am adding this to the next update.
