Fatal error – Undefined variable $default_express_show_in_ch

    After updating to the latest version of the plugin, one of our production websites started showing a critical error, making the entire site inaccessible.

    After debugging, we traced the issue to an undefined variable in the plugin.

    The variable:

    $default_express_show_in_checkout

    is being used before it is initialized, which results in:

    PHP Warning: Undefined variable $default_express_show_in_checkout

    On servers where warnings/notices are treated as fatal (or displayed), this causes the website to break.
