Can’t Save Search Engine Visibility Settings

I’m trying to uncheck the “Discourage search engines from indexing this site”
box under Reading Settings, but I keep getting a “Settings save failed” error.

Any thoughts on this?

I deactivated all plugins (except the ones enabled by default in WordPress.com but error persisted. List of plugins here:

The site with the error is under a wordpress.com account but my client do not have the chat option available when logged in as a business plan user, so I am using this route to try and solve the issue.
