Performance when disabling widgets in asset manager

I use Royal Elementor Addons (free) on an Elementor site and I am trying to reduce the weight of assets/css/frontend.min.css, which is by far the heaviest CSS file loaded on my pages. I experienced a drop of my performance measured on Page Speed Insight in the past weeks.

I had disabled around 90% of the widgets in the Assets Manager, including the global “toggle all widgets” switch and the WooCommerce Grid/Slider/Carousel widget. My site does not use WooCommerce and the plugin is not even installed.

After doing that, clearing all caches and reinstalling the plugin, the file has not changed at all. It still contains 230+ occurrences of “wpr-product” and 150+ occurrences of “wpr-woo”, and its transferred size is still higher than before (79,603 bytes brotli-compressed, checked over multiple requests vs approx 45,000 bytes about one month ago).

I found a thread from 2024 where one of your developers explained that the checkboxes only stop PHP modules from loading, and that splitting widget styles into separate files was planned but had no timeline:

So my questions are:

1. Is this still the expected behaviour today, or should disabling widgets reduce the CSS?
2. Is per-widget CSS loading on the roadmap? It has been two years since that thread.
3. Is there any supported way to strip unused widget styles in the meantime?

I am asking because your product pages state that deactivating unused widgets “prevents unnecessary scripts and styles from loading on the frontend”, which does not match what I am seeing for CSS.
