Sudden drops in attacks
-
Few weeks ago I experienced sudden drop of attacks reported by AntiSpam by CleanTalk on all 12 websites that I operate. Instead of thousands attacks per day suddenly reports show less than 10 per day.
Is there any way to diagnose if CleanTalk continues to work effectively?

Hello @mountbest,
Please follow this guide to check if the Anti-Spam plugin is installed on your websites: https://cleantalk.org/help/install-wordpress
To test the protection, please follow this guide: https://cleantalk.org/help/protection-test
If you need assistance testing or verifying your protection, please contact us via our support ticket system so we can identify the specific site(s) experiencing the issue: https://cleantalk.org/my/support/open
Thank you,
I tested forms using s@cleantalk.org and they refuse to submit, saying that submission is marked as spam.
But I am concerned that the number of attacks reported by CleanTalk on all my websites dropped 1000 times for no apparent reason. Are other users of CleanTalk experiencing the same? Maybe spammers blacklisted websites protected by CleanTalk? Can you test other users of CleanTalk?
We have not received complaints from other users regarding this issue. It is possible that your website’s search engine indexing or rankings have shifted, which can lead to a natural decrease in overall traffic.
You may want to check your Google Search Console or analytics tools to see if there have been any changes in your site’s indexing status or target keyword positions.
Traffic remains the same measured on daily, weekly and monthly basis on all 12 websites.
However, I use Security Ninja firewall that recently has been upgraded. Maybe now it protects forms too.
When the form failed to submit with s@cleantalk.org , the text message was very different than published in your guide. This gives me a hint that a system other than CleanTalk protects forms.
The message displayed when a user is blocked varies depending on the specific rule triggered. To help me determine if the block message is generated by CleanTalk, please share a screenshot or copy the exact text of the message.
PS, Upon inspecting your connected websites, I noticed that your SpamFireWall logs stopped reaching our servers on July 20. This data sync loss explains why your recent reports show fewer recorded events.
Please make sure that any active firewall, security plugin, or hosting-level rules on your server are not blocking our cloud IP addresses. You can find the full list of IPs to allowlist in our guide (refer to the Anti-Spam section):

The exact message is red in color and contains text :
Submission marked as spammed. Please try again×
I whitelisted all Antispam IP addresses of CleanTalk in my firewall and the response remains exactly the same
I located your request in your anti-spam logs and tested the form directly. I can confirm that the blocking message was indeed generated by CleanTalk.
However, we need to investigate the issue with the SpamFireWall logs. Could you please open a ticket in our private support system so we can gather more details about your sites? https://cleantalk.org/my/support/open
Thank you,
Additionally, I would like to inform you that our team has initiated an investigation regarding the missing SpamFireWall logs.
We will review our cloud records and contact you with an update within 2–3 business days.
Hi @mountbest,
Thank you for your patience. We identified and fixed the issue on our side. The SparFireWall log processing is now working correctly again.
If you still notice anything unusual, please let us know. -
