AdBlock is blocking your js

Hi, I recently noticed, that in Google Chrome for PC my AdBlock extension started to block your /wp-content/plugins/ad-inserter/js/ai-functions.min.js with notification: Failed to load resource: net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT.

In my case, everything seems to be working fine: all the codes that I put in your plugin are working correctly.

Just wanted to ask if it’s okay for AdBlock to block this script. Just in case, I am using ver. 2.8.16 of your plugin.

No, no plugin file should be blocked.

@spacetime can anything be done for AdBlock to stop blocking your script? If yes, then does it have to be done from your side?

Yes, you can whitelist blocked files or plugin file pattern to be on the safe side.

@spacetime but it’ll work only for me. What about other visitors, who have Ablock extension in a browser?

I see no reason to block plugin files. I assume the ad blocker you are using has some support where you can inform them about false positives. If you can name exactly which ad blocker (and what settings) you are using, I can try to contact their support.

@spacetime I use the most popular one: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/adblock-%E2%80%94-block-ads-acros/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom . It’s installed almost 60 million times.

And there are no specific settings – you just enable it, and it works by itself. I guess, it blocks your script because of it’s name – maybe renaming it is going to help.

Thanks. I just checked in Chrome and could not reproduce your issue. No plugin file is blocked. Can you try to get the blocking reason or the pattern that triggered the blocking?

@spacetime I just visit any page of my website https://litfan.ru/ with AdBlock extension enabled, and the error is shown in Dev Console: https://ibb.co/yctB1m5N . When I disable AdBlock, the error disappears.

In the past it didn’t happen – it’s a recent error. And I didn’t change settings of your plugin for a long time.

The issue is not in the ad blocker itself. It is in the EasyList it uses. I will notify them about the issue.
