Apply License Offline

    Is it possible to apply the Free License when the server hosting the WordPress website with Wordfence does not have access to the internet?
    Is there an offline method to apply the license without internet access?
    What features are impacted without the license? (Such as the 2-factor authentication)

    Hi @syazwans, thanks for getting in touch!

    Wordfence isn’t designed to work on a server without internet access and we’re unable to support it on staging or offline environments. If you navigate to the Wordfence Tools > Diagnostics page, you’ll see that under Connectivity, connections are required for Wordfence servers and back to the site itself. This connectivity is for firewall rule updates, malware signatures, vulnerability scanning, and IP/location lookups.

    Enabling reCAPTCHA would also require internet access to reach Google, but 2FA codes are time-based. Whilst Wordfence can usually check NTP servers online to keep accurate time, making sure your server’s clock stays accurate may be sufficient offline.
