I understand you’re looking to exclude a few remote postal codes from your standard shipping rates and charge a higher courier fee for those regions.
You can achieve this by creating two shipping zones:
- Create a shipping zone for the remote postal codes.
- Select the country for this shipping zone.
- Click Limit to specific ZIP/postcodes and enter the postal codes (or postcode patterns) for the remote regions.
- Add the shipping method with the higher courier fee for this zone.
- Make sure this shipping zone is placed above your general shipping zone.
- Create a second shipping zone for the entire country.
- Select the same country.
- Do not specify any ZIP/postcodes for this zone.
- Add your standard shipping method and rates.
WooCommerce matches shipping zones from top to bottom. As soon as it finds the first shipping zone that matches the customer’s address, it uses that zone and does not continue checking the remaining zones. By placing the remote postal code zone above the general country zone, customers in those regions will receive the higher shipping rate, while all other customers in the country will receive the standard rate.
