    Hello Support Team,

I need some help. I installed and configured the Sensei LMS Certificate plugin and created a new certificate based on a template. However, upon completing the “Introduction to Cybersecurity” course, the student’s score and a button to view the certificate appear; yet, when clicked, it opens a new tab showing only the template without the certificate details—essentially a blank certificate (see attached screenshot). Could you please advise me on what to do? If necessary, I can provide access to the WordPress dashboard so your team can investigate the issue further.

Thank you. Best regards from Brazil.

    Hi @rayoacadeymy

Thanks for the details and the screenshots — a certificate that opens showing only the background template with no name, course, or date almost always comes down to the template’s text positions or placeholders, rather than anything wrong with the course itself. Here’s how to check:

    1. Confirm each text section has a position set

Go to Certificate Templates → (your template). For each section — Heading, Course, Message, Completion Date, and Place — there should be a “Set Position” box drawn on the certificate image. Any section without a position won’t be printed. If one is missing, click Set Position and drag a box onto the image where you want that text to appear, then update the template.

    2. Check that the placeholder tags are still in the text fields

The text fields use placeholders to pull in the student’s details:

    • {{learner}} — student name
    • {{course_title}} — course name
    • {{completion_date}} — completion date
    • {{course_place}} — site name

If any of these were deleted from the fields, that line will render empty. Re-add the ones you need.

    3. Check your site’s Date Format

Go to Settings → General and make sure the Date Format is not blank. A blank date format can stop the completion date (and sometimes the rest of the text) from rendering. Pick one of the preset formats (or ent.

    4. Reset to the default template to test

If it’s still blank, go to Sensei LMS → Tools and run “Create default example certificate template”. This restores a fully-configured example template with all positions and placeholders in place, so you can confirm certificates render correctly, then adjust from there. (Note: this reassigns the example template to all courses.)

Could you give those a try and let me know how the certificate looks afterward? If it’s still blank, a screenshot of your template’s editing screen (showing the Set Position boxes) would help me narrow it down.

Thanks @lastsplash. I fix it, but I think the certificate plugin have been more available templates.

    Best regards. Alexandro
