    Hi, this will be my first time using Woocommerce so please bare with me. I will be selling an ebook on my site. I understand PDFs are one format. Are other formats needed?

    Here’s a follow-up question. I just tried to upload a epub file as the downloadable file and I tried to upload the same file in the media library, but it says “the file cannot be processed by the web server”. What am I doing wrong

    Hi @mindiapolis!

    Welcome to WooCommerce! No worries at all, We’re happy to help.

    WordPress does not allow EPUB files to be uploaded to the Media Library by default, so the behavior you’re seeing is expected.

    If you’d like to upload EPUB files to the Media Library, you’ll need to either:

    • Add custom code to allow the EPUB MIME type, or
    • Use a plugin such as File Upload Types to enable EPUB uploads.

    Once EPUB uploads are allowed, you should be able to upload the file and use it as the downloadable file for your WooCommerce product.
