• Far too complicated for our Association, far too much detail, far too much information required for simple payments. Cant do an easy vendor and client list.

    Hello @colinbs,

Thank you for the honest feedback, we really appreciate you sharing it.

We’re sorry to hear the plugin felt too complex for your association’s needs.
Ever Accounting is built to give a full picture of income, expenses, and
accounts, which can feel like more setup than a simple vendor/client list needs.

If you don’t mind sharing a bit more about your workflow (e.g. what a simple
vendor and client list would look like for you), we’d love to understand it
better, it genuinely helps us think about how to make things simpler for
    smaller organizations down the line.

Thanks again for giving it a try!

Thank you for your reply. I really didn’t expect to hear from you.

To explain a little more, currently I use a plug-in called CBX Accounting which is absolutely perfect for our needs. Unfortunately it has now no longer supported, although it still works, it is recommended to remove the plug-in. This is why I started looking for a replacement. Ever accounting did seem to do what I wanted until I installed and tried using it. I need to record when payments are made into our bank account by members (vendors), we have various payment categories, subscriptions, reunion deposits, reunion balances and donations, plus maybe one or two other items. and then we need to record any payments made by our association, therefore a simple Vendors and Client list is all that is needed, with a simple reporting system to carry out and print end of year reports. If Ever accounting can do this in a simple method, I would be willing to give it another try. But when I tried entering our membership list, that was when my problems started, too much information was required.

Hope this makes sense to you.

Hope to hear from you again with a possible way forward.

    Kind regards

    Hi @colinbs ,

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation, that really helps us understand exactly what you need, and I think we can make this work for you.

Here’s the good news: you don’t need to fill in all the fields you saw. For example, to create a vendor, you really only need to enter the name and select a currency. Everything else is optional. The same applies across other areas like bills and payments, any field marked with a red asterisk (*) is required, and everything else can simply be skipped if it’s not relevant to your workflow.

Given what you’ve described, tracking member payments across a few categories (subscriptions, reunion deposits, balances, donations), recording association payments, and running simple end-of-year reports, this should be very achievable without needing to enter all the extra detail that felt overwhelming the first time around.

You can find more details in our documentation here: https://wpeveraccounting.com/docs/

We’d genuinely love for you to give it another try. If you run into anything along the way, just reach out, happy to walk through it with you.
