    Hello Tutor LMS Support Team,

    I am using Tutor LMS with the Edumall theme on my website: bosch.academy

    Issue: The Cancel button inside the Announcement modal (frontend instructor dashboard) is not working. When I click Cancel, the modal does not close.

    Console Errors:

    1. Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<' at edumall-script-js-after:2061
    2. Blocked aria-hidden on an element because its descendant retained focus
    • Element with focus: <button.tutor-btn tutor-btn-outline-primary>
    • Ancestor with aria-hidden: <form#tutor_announcement_new>

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Login as Instructor
    2. Go to Dashboard → Announcements
    3. Click ‘Add New Announcement’
    4. Click ‘Cancel’ button
    5. Modal does NOT close

    Environment:

    • Tutor LMS 4.0.1: Latest
    • Theme: Edumall v4.4.5
    • WordPress: Latest
    • Browser: Chrome (latest)

    Expected Behavior: Clicking Cancel should close the modal.

    Actual Behavior: Modal stays open. aria-hidden conflict between focused button and modal form.

    Please advise on a fix or provide a patch.

    Hey @waqarnasir

    Thank you for reaching out and for the detailed report. Could you please check whether the issue persists after temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme, such as Twenty Twenty? This will help determine whether the behavior is caused by a conflict with the Edumall theme or not.

    Hi,

    I tested with Twenty Twenty-One theme and
    the error was gone completely.

    After switching back to Edumall theme,
    the error returned:

    “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<‘”
    at edumall-script-js-after

    So the issue is confirmed to be with
    Edumall theme v4.5.7 and Tutor LMS Pro 4.0.1
    compatibility.

    Please advise.

    Thank you for the update and for confirming the testing results. Since the issue does not occur with the default Twenty Twenty theme and only appears when using the Edumall theme, it indicates that the conflict is related to the theme compatibility.

    In this case, we recommend reaching out to the Edumall theme support team and sharing the error details with them so they can investigate and provide a compatibility fix.
