Footer text conflict

I recently updated the plugin and am now having a plugin conflict due to the new version’s handling of footer text.

Here is the PHP error:

My host already modifies the footer text and the manner in which PrettyLinks tries to modify the footer ends up breaking the site. This results in being unable to enter the post editor where the only solution is to deactivate PrettyLinks to regain access.

Please provide a permanent resolution to this issue.
