Wordfence Installation Error After Fresh Install | WordPress.org

Hello,

I installed Wordfence 8.2.2 on the site today. During installation, I clicked “Continue” on the “Get Your Wordfence License” screen and selected the free version. However, I received an error during license activation.

The site is brand new; I purchased the theme from Themeforest. I’m using Cloudflare, and I think Cloudflare might be causing this error.

Error message:
Error Installing License

An error occurred while installing your license key.
Please try again. If the problem persists, please contact Wordfence Support

How can I resolve this issue? I’d like to continue using the free version.

Thank you for reaching out! Please make sure you’ve run through the troubleshooting steps here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/api-key/#installing-your-free-license-key

If that doesn’t help, I’d like to see a copy of the site diagnostics. Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

NOTE: It should look as follows – Screenshot of Tools > Diagnostic > Send by Email
