Update and PhP compatibility

    At any version of PHP above 7.4, the edit functions on both post and page no longer work correctly. The button bar has disappeared and all typing is “whited out.” This occurs with any edit plug-in. or without. I can live without buttons (coding isn’t that hard) but invisible posts (on both the edit and code pages) just isn’t feasible. Any and all suggestions would be welcome

    I can’t seem to reproduce this on my end. Have you tried deactivating all plugins to rule them out as the cause? The fact that something is there but invisible suggests a styling issue, which can certainly be caused by plugins. If you’re using a caching plugin, clear its cache as well. Try testing it with a different browser, too.

    thank you for checking. I went through my plug-ins one by one and finally identified one that hadn’t been updated. When I had done this before – nothing. Now? the gremlin has relented and I was able to check updates. Dropping that one let me get updated.
