Any plans to include hashtags, ideally having WordPress tags convert to hashtags on the Bluesky post?

Hey @allancav 👋

the plugin already supports classic hashtags, but I think we should also find a way to support classic tags as hashtags. I’ll look into how we can do this without using too much of the 300-character limit.

Just checked the code and the plugin does even support adding tags as hidden meta. So your content should already be findable when someone searches for one of the tags!

Hi Matthias! Thanks for your reply. So regular tags added to my WP post will be searchable in the Bluesky cross-post, or do I need to add tags somewhere else in my original WP post?

I’m using the link card option for posts at the moment and love how it looks, and Bluesky replies are showing up on WP post.

If you use hashtags directly in your post (or the specific excerpt box that will be released with the next version: https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-atmosphere/issues/151 https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-atmosphere/pull/152) they will show up as classic hashtags.

WordPress native tags will be added as hidden meta data, to not block visible space, and your post will show up in tag searches to that hashtag.

You can see an example what the plugin sends to bluesky on my test-blog: https://matthiaspfefferle.blog/2026/06/30/hallo/?atproto=all

You will be able also to debug your posts by adding ?atproto=all with the next release of the plugin: https://github.com/Automattic/wordpress-atmosphere/pull/170

This is independent of the “Long-form posts” settings btw.
